Hey Friends,
May has brought with it a full roster of deep healing retreats and with it a plethora of insights about the nature of mind and healing.
I’m feeling tremendously privileged to be at the forefront of this high art, and to be sharing the jewels that come along the way.
Here are a few high-level notes to spice up your weekend.
Visionary Cartography: The Inner Art of Healing, Transformation, and Mastery
In recent times, I’ve had doubts about using the metaphor of cartography, but I find it true to the territory time and again.
We humans intuitively draw upon our most artful and scientific inner maps to guide our inner journeys. Like living legends (double meaning intended), we put our inner world on the table to discuss the path forward.
In doing so, we make the invisible world known so we can navigate the complexities of the inner world together. This beautiful, simple, and timeless mode of communication is the way we come into resonance, coherence, and get to the heart of where the healing is at.
In-Between Lands: Ephemeral States
If you are anything like me, you are mystified by the transient nature of phenomena!
I’ve been deeply studying the Buddhist view of emptiness (shunyata) and challenging myself to consistently look directly into the nature of arising, abiding, and passing.
Like clouds in the sky or a dreamer in a dream, lucidity just happens when ephemeral experience is seen clearly for what it actually is.
This insight practice is consistently mind-blowing, and surprisingly calming!
The Great Embrace: Complete Acceptance
These kinds of insights can seem like dated spiritual platitudes. Or, in the infamous words of Michael Pollan, our greatest realizations born of psychedelic hyperspace often read like corny Hallmark cards!
Nonetheless, awareness has the very nature of complete acceptance. When we embrace everything as it is, we naturally dissolve resistances and align with reality.
This disintegrates fragmentary, illusory selves in opposition to reality and reunites us with fundamental unity.
That realization is as healing and liberating as it sounds!
