Pure Intuitions on the Path of Healing Arts
I was recently listening to a fabulous philosophical dialogue and was bemused by Andrew’s description of rationality as the punk kid on the block—arrogantly proclaiming his superiority over thousands of years of humanity’s great cultural mythopoetic renderings of reality.

No doubt, rationality has some serious mojo. And when the Kool-Aid is getting dished out at the house party of woo, I make a point to cozy up to rationality and his buddies.
Yet, if we were to anthropomorphize rationality (which we definitely should do!) and make some broad brushstroke assumptions, we can be inspired by one of my favorite philosophers and OG Visionary Cartographers, Erick Godsey, and say there are generally two versions of rationality:
- Cold-hearted, tragically ironic, and cynical (not bad with a strong cup of coffee and some good tobacco for a short visit!)
2.Fucked wide open by the wild mystery (and still thinking like a G)
Now, I know that’s crass, but it gets the point across. When rationality is genuinely humble to everything that is not evidence-based (which is still most of reality), we have ourselves a real conversation!
I know that’s oversimplified and there is a lot of nuance and grey area there. I know you know I’m playful if you read these things, with a certain bemused intellectual humor. blah- blah- blah
To conclude, here is my latest mythopoetic rendering on the theme of following pure intuitions we receive on the path of healing arts (especially after high doses, when you have been fucked open wide by the goodness of the mystery!):
“Where to begin?
When you want…
When you want…
Move to the most vital source
.The primordial essence,
That involves your deepest desire for presence.
The creative yess-ness.
Offer prayers to this primordial pulse—Ride its waves and currents
All the way to the resting point
Of True Home.”
To your true nature and pure intuitions,
