AKA – The Mythopoetic Art of Polishing the Lens by Which We See.
This piece is an invitation to delve deeper into a particular way of seeing.
Read on to ponder a life well-lived at the intersection of artful storytelling, mystical epistemology, and unobstructed self-expression.
And, despite all the playful language to follow here… please keep in mind:
We are, in fact, deeply entrenched in a full-blown existential risk scenario, navigating countless vectors of imminent collapse.
Mind viruses are mutating, spurring novel cult activity at an unprecedented scale, with powerful disruptive technologies improving exponentially by the digitized nanosecond.
So, remember, the core intention here is about exceptional thinking, the kind of crystal clarity that cuts through nonsense like a hot knife through butter, and empowers altruistic action at the highest imaginable level.
No pressure… Anyway, I digress.
At the heart of this conversation is a simple yet transformative premise born from the crucible of ancient storytellers: With every creative act, aim to reverse fortunes and dispel ignorance.
Yes, the essence of good storytelling is to participate in the reversal of fortunes and to bid farewell to that precious loss of ignorance.
Ignorance is big business. Yet, clarity—the kind that slices through confusion like a hot knife through butter—is still figuring out its branding in late-stage capitalism.
It’s true that the most precious knowledge is often reserved for a few elites at the top of their game. But alas, at the risk of everyone’s total annihilation—diamonds are worthless. It’s better to give it all and die reversing fortunes than to see the lights go out, wondering… what if?
Onto the punchline…
Like a lot of great things in life, what is about to be said is the product of deep complexity being condensed into a precious jewel of simple, life-giving, empowering clarity… That actually just looks like normal words on a computer screen.
Use at your own risk and benefit.
This is, after all, just a deceptively simple string of questions…
Step one:
What are limitations?
Step two:
What is the difference between real limitations and imagined ones?
Step Three:
And here it gets really interesting…
What is your basis for knowing the difference? How do you know you know?
Step four:
From that explanation …
What do you actually do?
Said more poetically…
What is the next process you employ to take action on your knowledge?
This basic thought experiment can be run through thousands of times to produce great benefit… And at its mechanical basis, it either leads to
A) A shifting of fortunes and the removal of ignorance – Leading to the flourishing of all good things…
Or
B) No shift, more ignorance – the re-creation of pain and suffering.
The last 8,000 years of human civilization have exhausted folly to the Nth degree, and I think it’s high time we raise the standard of what constitutes a good use of attention these days.
So,
Let’s get more real about our limitations…
Help each other overcome the imaginary ones…
And get to work on the real ones.
To your great work,
