The Gospel of Going Big

At the core of the ethos here is a movement beyond mere superficiality and into the deeper psycho-emotional and spiritual landscapes of human experience.

In this era of rapid and dynamic change, our inner psychic landscapes cannot be approximated by outdated conventions.

The evolutionary pulse invites us, again and again, to innovate by standing on the shoulders of the giants who have come before us, and to lead new pathways of authentic transformation, growth, and self-discovery.

And yet…

Growth, by its very nature, is defined in part by its discomfort!

Isn’t it a blasted conundrum that the very thing our souls yearn for—To grow,to learn,to discover…Is also the very thing that pulls us out of bed in the morning when we’d rather not?

(Contrary to the popular belief that once you “find your dream job” you’re leaping out of bed every morning like a scene from a Cheerios commercial.)

Our big desires and dreams bring us into contact with all the little things we would prefer not to do…

Consider:

“The more uncomfortable conversations you are willing to have, the more successful you will be.”

• Those moments we need to feel into a painful and unsatisfying family dynamic.
• Sitting through authentic feedback showing us a blind spot or a shadow.
• Digging extra deep into a habitual pattern that always seems to be everybody else fault… and finding real personal responsibility

  …These are the textures of that background hum of resistance to all the little things that make up a true growth edge.

And it gets worse…

Going Big into our dreams is also the terrain of outright risk and failure!

Brené Brown said it succinctly, “There is no innovation and creativity without failure. Period.”

Nothing gets the primal body jittering and shaking like knowing that expressing our desire is tantamount to risking incredible disappointment by life!

And yet, and yet,

Here we find the secret sauce of vital life and the domain of great genius.

This is the Gospel of Going Big.

It’s remembering, in the infamous words of Terence McKenna, “Nature loves courage… This is how the magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it’s a feather bed.”

At every juncture, we can choose aliveness and expansion, embracing the dynamic range of feelings as the essential signs that we are vibrantly alive… we are doing what we came here to do, be it wildly successful or a messy yet fruitful learning experience.

We can say yes to the mission critical healing work that gets us fully off the sidelines and fully into the game of life.

We can also choose the optimal relational scenarios that reinforce our learning, help us stay with important inner work, lend intellectual rigor and sage wisdom to actualizing our gifts, and remind us of our core values when we lose our way.

So, ultimately what we are all about here is merging together the vital arts of healing, psychology, and spirituality to provide the tools that unlock all the goodness through the complexities of life.

Celebrating the uniqueness of each journey that contributes to the greater and interconnected wholeness of life,

Holding the love through the hard times and the good,

Supporting one another to go big for the benefit of all.
